“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.” Psalms 34: 8-10
David, the author of this Psalm is inviting us to each experience, to taste and see for ourselves the goodness of the Lord. He is not a distant God, He is near and attentive. In His presence is fullness of joy. We are able to be satisfied fully and lack nothing when we fully rely on Him. This passage is a wonderful reminder that He is enough, He is everything. Even strong lions—the kings of the jungle—may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord will never miss out on what is truly good. Psalms 34 reminds us we have all we need in Jesus. He is our refuge and our hope. He is our source of lasting peace and soul-satisfying joy. So today, don’t just hear about God’s goodness—taste it. Open His Word, sit with Him in prayer, and take time to notice the beauty of His creation around you. Let your heart experience His faithfulness. He is where the joy is found—and in Him, you are not lacking any good thing.
