“Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.” (Proverbs 12:25)
In a world full of noise, stress, and self-focus, kindness stands out. It doesn’t take much, just a moment of compassion, a word of encouragement, or a small act of service, to remind someone they are seen, loved, and not alone. We live in a fast-paced world where it’s easy to get caught up in our own routines. But what if today, you paused and were present? What if you looked up and really noticed the people around you; your family, your coworkers, your neighbors, even the stranger in line at the store? What if your words and actions truly reflected the love of Christ? Life was never meant to be lived in isolation. God designed us for community. Even the smallest act of kindness can make a lasting impact. I encourage you to find ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the everyday moments with those around you. Your flesh will try to pull you away from God’s will, but His blessings are found when we listen to the Spirit. Invite Him into each day. Pray that He would fill your heart with His desires and break your heart for what breaks His. Be a light in the darkness, a light that points others to Jesus. As Peter reminds us: “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:8–10) It is our calling as believers to encourage one another, sharpen one another, and walk through life supporting each other, just as Christ did with His disciples. So today, be intentional. Speak life over your friends. Be a light.
