“But now this is what the Lord says, He who created you, Jacob, He who formed you, Israel: ‘Do not fear, for I have summoned you by name; you are mine.’” Isaiah 43:1
Have you ever felt overwhelmed, wondering if there’s any clear path forward? Have you felt unseen or alone? The truth that keeps my heart from growing weary is this: my God delights in me. He chooses me. He calls me His own. An especially encouraging verse is found in Zephaniah 3:17, “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” For those in Christ, we are welcomed into His family and given a new identity, not as citizens of this world, but of His Kingdom. And as Hebrews 3:13 states, “But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness” this is still available to all, as long as it is called today! Our Creator is in control. His hand is writing the story of our lives, and we can rest in His presence, knowing He has claimed us as sons and daughters that he delights in. With the incredible gift of new life in Christ comes the commission to reflect His life in ours: to love others in ways that can’t be explained, to give generously of our time and resources, to put His Kingdom first. When we shift the center of our lives away from ourselves and onto Him, the weight begins to lift. Fear loosens its grip. The world grows a little brighter and joy can be found in such meaningful ways. Life was never meant to be lived for ourselves, it was meant to be lived in community, in love, and in service for His Kingdom and His Glory. And as we honor Christ with our lives, we find ourselves drawing nearer to Him, experiencing the abundant life He designed for us, the very life the Creator has called us into.
