Blessed are those who are persecuted because of their righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:10
What are you doing for the Kingdom today? It is a simple, yet deeply convicting question I ask myself often. What will you say or do that has lasting, eternal value today? Conversations matter; communication in a world that is so self-involved is crucial. As a believer, my instinctive response to the evil and darkness that has felt so heavy lately is to combat it with Light. It is important not only to recognize the darkness in the world, but to recognize the dire need for courageous faith to be acted out daily. The battle between light and darkness in our world is a very personal battle that is not only outward but internally raging within us. The tension between doing what honors Jesus and what gratifies the flesh is a spiritual battle we cannot fight alone. As Christians we must be firmly rooted in Christ to not be pulled up and tossed around by the enemy. We must desperately plead the blood of Jesus daily over our lives, our families, our friends, our homes, our churches, and our schools. We are called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. (Matthew 5:44). We are called to be a reflection of Christ in every area of our lives. The world is full of hate, bitterness, envy, jealousy, deceitful manipulations of the enemy. But God. Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior is Light, Love, Holiness, Purity, Salvation and He is freely available for all. I encourage you to have a Kingdom conversation today. Let your light shine before men so that they may see your good works and glorify your Father, which is in Heaven. (Matthew 5:16)
