His Will, His Way

As for God, His way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him. 2 Samuel 22:31

Have you ever wondered what your purpose is? For many, they dream of what they will become from a young age. Goals are set, and after a lot of hard work and determination, they are on track to become what they have always dreamed of being. But what if God has more in store for you, something far greater than you can even fathom? For David, the youngest of his brothers and a lowly shepherd boy, he would have never imagined all the ways God would use him. When the Israelites needed someone to fight the giant Goliath, David was not first on their list as the most capable. But with God’s help, David defeated the giant. What seemed impossible became reality because God was with David. David had confidence and a strong faith in God. He believed that, with God’s help and by His will, it could be done. Confidence is a direct result of nearness to the One who created you—not arrogance; those are separate things entirely. By humbling yourself, removing yourself from the center of your world, and putting God on the throne of your heart, you will feel most confident. Anxiety and worry will fall away as a byproduct of confidence in Jesus. Trust in Him and His plan, and know that it is good. He is the potter, and we are the clay. Just as David confidently stepped into the role God had laid out for him as King over Israel, we too can step with full assurance into the plans God has for us. Be careful not to get so busy making your own goals and plans that you forget your true identity as sons and daughters of the Lord Jesus Christ. His way is perfect, and He will provide us with all we need.
